2D Work
Tasks:
- Research and analyse the work of a pre-20th Century artist.
- Complete a Pastiche of the piece of work you have analysed.
- Recreate a modern version of the image you have analysed using photography, and if needed Photoshop.
- Analyse an example of a contemporary (20th Century onwards) artist. Stick a coloured example image of their work in the middle of your page, include the title, media and date it was completed and then annotate the use of the formal elements and what the meaning of the piece could be.
- Complete up to 4 rough (annotated) sketches combining your two artists works together.
- Select and refine your best rough sketch, creating a larger, more detailed drawing, experimenting with media and techniques on small areas. Annotate and explain what you will do going forward.
- (If you plan on painting a majority of your piece, you will need to stretch your paper before drawing)
- Sketch up your final design onto your A3 paper.
- Begin applying your chosen media(s) with your chosen techniques.
- Refine work and respond to individual feedback.
- Present a photo of your final piece in your sketchbook with a written reflection on the success of your project.
Mr Tunbridge recreated Edvard Munch's 'The Scream' in oil pastel as this offered the same textures and vibrancy of the original piece.
Oliver Jeffers painted his sinking ship onto another artists painting of a river that he found in a second-hand shop. Mr Tunbridge chose Acrylic to recreate the sinking ship on top of 'The Scream'.
